New Filter Option: In Lookup / Not In Lookup

Explore Analytics continues to add advanced calculation and filtering capabilities to enhance the types of reporting you can deliver for your organization.

Now, you can filter one table based on a query to another table, using the In Lookup or Not In Lookup filters.

The following is an example of In Lookup used in the CMDB Data Quality pre-built report application. This report is a report on the Configuration Item table. The filter is:

  1. Querying the CI Category Mapping table (where CI classes are mapped to Categories)
  2. Filtering mapping records where Category IN Business Services and Applications, Infrastructure, Network, or Storage
  3. Returning the Class values for records that match that filter
  4. Filtering the Configuration Item table where the Class matches the Class value from the CI Category Mapping table
