Running total in charts

Based on a request from a customer, Explore Analytics has added new power to charts, allowing you to automatically generate a running total based on your data.

You can add a Running Total by adding a value to the Values of the chart, and in the Value Dialog clicking the Display As button and selecting 'Running Total':

In the following Category Chart example, we are showing a 'Count' of incidents, and then also a running total of 'Count':

This example shows the same data in a Timeline Chart:

You can also use this on a calculated value. In the following example, the timeline combines the Number of Incidents Opened with the Number of Incidents Closed, and the "Running Total" is on the difference between the two:
