Explore Analytics has added a new optional security feature for data sources.
If you want to publish data to your users, but restrict their data based on their 'company', you can now use Company Separation to automatically segment the data.
"Company" can be a group, company, client, division, location -- any user attribute that can be used to filter data.
Company Separation, when activated, attaches a filter to every query where a field in the data matches a user's attribute.
For example, in the following settings, a reference table called "Companies" provides a list of companies you can use as a user attribute.
For example, if the user has the company ACME Corp on their user preferences and views a report, then every query will be limited to "Company = ACME Corp).
Note: The company-separation functionality is only available with an Enterprise Plus subscription.
